Different Journeys. Shared Purpose.

Flying Monkeys was founded by Hayley and Karl Wardle, bringing together decades of professional expertise, lived experience and a shared belief in the power of meaningful transformation.

Our journeys have been very different, but they have led us to the same place: a belief that people, organisations and communities are capable of more when they are encouraged to challenge thinking, see new possibilities and recognise their potential.

What we bring to Flying Monkeys has been shaped by what we have learned professionally, what we have experienced personally and the different perspectives we bring to the table.

Together, we offer something that is professionally grounded, deeply human and distinctly ours.

Two different journeys. Two different perspectives. One shared purpose.

Challenge. Inspire. Transform.

THE PEOPLE BEHIND FLYING MONKEYS

Hayley Wardle

Hayley Wardle is a strategic change leader, former charity Chief Executive, consultant and speaker whose work spans organisational transformation, leadership, social value, safeguarding and systems change.

For more than 20 years, she has worked across the charity sector, helping organisations, leaders and communities navigate complexity, strengthen direction and create meaningful, lasting impact. Holding an MBA with a thesis focused on leadership, Hayley combines strategic thinking with practical experience, bringing both executive-level insight and a strong understanding of people, systems and change.

As a charity Chief Executive, Hayley has held responsibility for strategy, people, growth, income, partnerships and organisational performance. She has led transformation and turnaround, reset strategic direction, secured significant investment, built sustainable services and developed high-performing teams.

Her wider experience is rooted in leading change.

Across charity and business consultancy, Hayley has developed and reset strategy, led organisational turnarounds, supported the formation and growth of charities, designed community projects and helped organisations move from uncertainty or underperformance towards greater clarity, sustainability and impact.

She has served and continues serve on Boards of Trustees and advisory groups, bringing both strategic oversight and practical leadership experience, and has contributed to the development of government policy and professional practice.

What runs through all of this work is Hayley’s ability to see what needs to change, bring people with her and turn strategy into action.

Alongside her leadership and consultancy expertise, Hayley is a specialist in child sexual exploitation, sexual abuse, trauma and safeguarding. Her career has also included work in mental health, giving her a broad understanding of the relationship between people, behaviour, systems and organisational culture.

Social value and community impact are also central to her work. She has developed projects for communities, built cross-sector partnerships and supported organisations to think beyond immediate outputs towards the wider difference they create for people and places.

Hayley has also shared her expertise through public speaking, podcasts and thought leadership, using her experience to challenge assumptions, open up difficult conversations and encourage new ways of thinking.

Her professional expertise is complemented by lived experience of trauma and mental health challenges, shaping an approach that is both strategically rigorous and deeply human.

Through Flying Monkeys, Hayley brings together leadership, strategy, systems insight, specialist knowledge and lived experience to help people, organisations and communities challenge thinking, unlock potential and create meaningful transformation.

STRATEGIC CHANGE LEADER. CONSULTANT. SPEAKER

Karl Wardle

Karl Wardle is a behavioural change specialist, mentor and speaker who helps individuals, leaders and organisations unlock potential, challenge limiting beliefs and create lasting personal and professional transformation.

For more than 15 years, Karl has worked alongside children, young people and adults, helping people better understand how they think, respond and perform. His approach combines extensive mentoring experience with advanced, PhD-level training in Neuromental Acceleration and the teaching of flow state, enabling individuals and teams to improve focus, resilience, confidence and performance while creating meaningful, sustainable change.

Karl's expertise has been shaped not only through professional development but through an extraordinary breadth of lived experience. Growing up in foster care, serving in the Armed Forces and later experiencing homelessness, violence, gang culture and prison exposed him to challenges that have given him a profound understanding of adversity, identity, behaviour and resilience. Rather than allowing those experiences to define his future, Karl used them to deepen his understanding of human potential and what enables lasting change.

Throughout his career, Karl has worked with individuals from diverse backgrounds, supporting people to overcome barriers, develop self-belief and recognise strengths they may never have seen in themselves. He has a unique ability to connect with people who may not respond to traditional approaches, building trust through authenticity, empathy and honest conversation.

Karl's work extends beyond individual mentoring. Through speaking, workshops, leadership development and thought leadership, he helps organisations understand the relationship between behaviour, culture, mindset and performance. His work explores resilience, trauma, mental health, identity, confidence, human potential and flow state, encouraging people to think differently about what is possible for themselves and those around them.

What runs through everything Karl does is a simple belief:

People are capable of far more than they often believe.

By combining behavioural insight, lived experience and practical tools for change, he helps individuals and organisations move beyond limitation, unlock potential and create meaningful transformation that lasts.

Through Flying Monkeys, Karl brings together behavioural science, mentoring, lived experience and performance psychology to help people, teams and organisations challenge thinking, unlock human potential and perform at their very best.

BEHAVIOURAL CHANGE. HUMAN POTENTIAL. FLOW STATE.

More Than the Sum of Our Experience

Flying Monkeys brings together two very different perspectives, shaped by professional expertise, lived experience and a shared belief in what becomes possible when thinking changes.

Together, we combine strategic leadership, behavioural insight, human understanding and real-world experience to challenge assumptions, open up new possibilities and help people, organisations and communities create meaningful change.

Our strengths are different, but they are complementary. That is what gives Flying Monkeys its edge: the ability to look at challenge from more than one angle, connect strategy with behaviour, and bring both professional rigour and humanity to the work.

Whatever the context, our approach remains the same.

We challenge thinking.
We inspire possibility.
We transform potential into impact.

STRONGER TOGETHER
